Botanical Name: Argemone albiflora
Common Name: White Prickly Poppy
Prickly Poppy is certainly an apt name for this lovely flower. They are easy to grow and attract nectar and pollen-gathering insects. In fact, you are almost sure to see a bee of some kind when you look into one of these large, frilly white blooms. Plant Prickly Poppies where you can enjoy them from a distance, as they really are prickly! Foliage is more of a blue-green color, and leaves somewhat resemble fresh Swiss chard with white ribs running down the veins. Blooms from March through July. Reaches a height of 3-6ft tall. Texas Native (Annual/Biennial).
